SUCCESSFUL BALI REVETTING

We were re-vetted by BALI (British Association Landscape Industries) yesterday as part of their Quality Standard Review to ensure we still meet the standards required. Elmtree have been members of BALI since the mid-1980s, this is our trade and regulatory body.

The purpose of the Quality Standard is to ensure that members can demonstrate that they have sufficient Commitment, Systems, Skills, Resources and Controls in place to consistently meet relevant customer, legislative and regulatory requirements in a measured and professional manner.

We were pleased to pass with flying colours. Thanks to BALI and their vetting and Technical officer Richard Gardiner, itโ€™s always good to get external feedback.

CANNINGTON COURT, BRIDGWATER UPDATE

This project for Kier Construction, completed in May 2015, was the refurbishment of Grade 1 and 2 listed buildings to be used as the European Training Headquarters for EDF Energy.

The Walled Gardens of the existing grounds are famous, and visited by many people. So great emphasis was to be placed on the quality of the planting and other landscaping, this was the reason Kier approached Elmtree to undertake the works.

The project was very challenging due to the very limited space and tight timescales. Also, very high standards of safety were demanded by EDF and Kier.

It was a great success for Elmtree, and we had much praise from the Client for the way in which we handled the challenging timescales, as well as the quality of our work.

TAYLOR WIMPEY WICHELSTOWE, SWINDON

This show area landscaping was based on a design we did in-house. The brief was for the garden to be educational and to encourage wildlife into the area.

We incorporated features such as a bee home, log habitat pile, bird table, driftwood sculpture and a pond for amphibians. We selected a range of plants that would attract insects and butterflies.

We created information boards so local school children could read about the various features we had installed.

COLLEGE GREEN, BRISTOL

College Green in Bristol City Centre was damaged by protestors camping on it during winter 2011/12. Together with our turf supplier we offered to returf it for a minimal sum. It cost us over ยฃ3,500 as a company but it was a great project to get involved with. All of the Elmtree team are based in Bristol and were proud to be part of โ€˜making College Green againโ€™

BRISTOL HARBOURSIDE

CANNINGTON COURT, BRIDGWATER

The Grade I listed buildings at Cannington Court were restored over three years by Kier Construction.

They are adjacent to the historical Walled Garden of Cannington, so it was important to maintain the consistently high standard of landscaping.

Access was very tight, so logistics were extremely challenging. Most of the materials had to be delivered in bulk to a nearby farm, then delivered on small vehicles, before being craned in to the working area.

We carried out topsoilng, turfing, as well as planting, which included trained fruit trees, Laburnum and Yew hedging.

ELMTREE TRANSFORM COMMUNITY GARDEN

Elmtree are pleased to today be working with Skanska by donating manpower and materials at Five Ways Bungalow, a community resource centre in Lawrence Weston, Bristol. We will transform their overgrown garden by creating raised beds and paths. This will leave a lasting legacy for the Lawrence Weston community who will be able to grow their own vegetables. There are 4 Elmtree people on site and 12 Skanska staff to assist. Will update with complete photos soon.
